IMAP vs POP
Zoho Mail offers multiple ways to access your email accounts from different service providers within the Zoho mailbox. They work by establishing a TCP link. Email protocols IMAP and POP are application layer protocols.
Zoho Mail as POP account
POP or Post Office Protocol enables you to access the emails in any email client of your choice. POP performs one-way email retrieval and there is no sync between the email clients and server.
Zoho Mail as IMAP account
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is an email retrieval and storage protocol, which syncs with the servers and maintains the status of messages across multiple email clients.
